Over the last few years, more and more cannabis studies are sharing results finding direct relationships with certain conditions and consuming weed. A recent study was conducted by the Society for The Study of Ingestive Behavior (SSIB) in search of finding a deeper link between cannabis and appetite.

Washington State University is located in Pullman, WA near the Idaho border. A team of researchers were looking at the potential therapeutic and health benefits of prescribing cannabis to patients experiencing appetite loss. According to one of the lead researchers, “we’re finding genetic physiological evens in the body that allow cannabis to turn eating behavior on or off.”

THC, the most famous compound in cannabis, seems to have the highest ability to affect hunger. Cannabis that is high in THC is also more capable to stimulate appetite than weed with a lower THC content. Researchers found that cannabis has the ability to release a hormone in the body called ghrelin which usually tells the brain to eat when your stomach is running on E.

We put together three strains that you can easily find at Local Roots that will get your ghrelin flowing.
